Peaceful easy feeling.

Don't remember the name.

Yellowstone Lake.

Very peaceful looking....at least to me.

Look at the buffalo.  I you look closely you can see eagles sitting in the branches on the bank of the stream (approximately in middle of picture).

One of these holes is where the elk below was drinking.

Now why would she drink there when there nice fresh water about 50 feet away? :)

Yellowstone

More pictures from Yellowstone.  It it such a diverse place it's kind of hard to believe that you could be in an area with all the hot springs and geysers and go just a few miles an be in a beautiful open meadow or looking at a beautiful waterfall.

A geyser showing off.

No trip would be complete with an Old Faithful picture.

Boiling mud (really it is steam coming up through mud so it looks like it is biling).

Mammoth Hot Springs

Some more Yellowstone pictures.  The Mammoth Hot Spring area is really a unique area.  We had to laugh one evening when we saw elk drink the sulfur smelling water when Yellowstone Lake was not too many feet away. :)

Yellowstone

A few shots from Yellowstone (2007).  The steps are Uncle Tom's trail of course....a long way down and even farther up (just kidding).

Wildlife

Can't leave the park with showing you a few examples of the wildlife we saw.
Saw lots of buffaloes.  I think one was irritated with me.  He wanted to cross the road and I was driving along about 15 feet from him and he finally snorted.  I got out of there before he decide to charge the car. :)
Not a good picture but you can see the bald eagle in the tree.
Elk of course.
Osprey on nest.
Another osprey.
Mountain goat keeping guard!
Another elk.
Closeup of elk.
Mama moose with baby!

Yellowstone again

The thing about Yellowstone is that you have such a diverse area of land.  In one places there are all sorts of hot springs, geysers, etc, in another there are canyons with waterfalls, and yet in another one there are beautiful meadows with streams.
A pool of hot water will all sorts of color.
Where does a buffalo sleep.....anywhere he wants to.  This one was laying not far off the trail and wasn't paying any attention to anyone.
 An odd looking sinkhole.

A meadow with a stream running through it.  This was such a beautiful place.
