Vicksburg National Military Park

All of these pictures are of a boat in Vicksburg National Military Park. As you can read below this is the first armed boat ever sunk by a torpedo (known as a mine today).




Some of the wood work on boats amazes me.  How did they make this?  I looked at it closely and it looked like a bunch of bent 2x4s put together.

All these pictures were taken in Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, MS.  We only had time to spend about a half of day there and you really need a lot more time to really see the whole thing.

Natchez Trace Parkway -- X

 The picture above and all the ones below were taken in Vicksburg National Military Park. I love to look around in places like this.  However it is sad when you think about all the you men that died in the Civil War.
