Shirley plantation

We stopped at a plantation while on our trip to NC.  This is the Shirley plantation.  It is still hard for me to rationalize how people thought it was okay to own other people.  I always find it interesting looking around on plantations even though it can be depressing if you let it.

Humpback bridge

We happened to be going by this bridge in our travels and we had to stop and look at it.  I've always loved covered bridges and this one is no exception. The bridge is located near Covington, VA.

Swamp

We went to another place in Virginia after we left Virginia Beach and went for a walk on a boardwalk hoping to see some animals.  Obviously, from the pictures below it was kind of swampy and I happen to see the sun reflecting in the dirty looking water and thought it was kind of pretty.

Historic Williamsburg--Part II

Some more of the the buildings in Williamsburg.  We just didn't have time to  go into the houses so we didn't buy the tickets.  We were still late getting to our destination that day.

Historic Williamsburg

Here are some shots from historical Williamsburg, VA.  I know George and Betsy have been there but they will probably enjoy pictures again. :)  It is a beautiful place and so well kept.
Governor's mansion

One more shot.

Don't remember the name of this church (and Patti is not near to tell me. :) )
