Another day in paradise

Here are some more shots from the Blue Ridge Parkway in October of 2011. The funniest thing of the whole trip was that there were some ladies along the parkway that had never seen snow and they were all giddy asking "Is this snow?". There was one lady with them that had lived in Ohio and she  was just rolling her eyes.

No trip to that area would be complete without a little driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We drove to Maggie Valley and go on the Blue Ridge Parkway at that point and drove until we got to the Waynesville exit and then got off.  As you can see from the pictures the weather wasn't very nice but it was still pretty.  In the last shot all I could see was fog except for a little window in the middle and I could see the mountains through the window...it was kind of neat in person.

I know it is spring but I still love fall pictures.  These are from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

These pictures show the one day that we got to go north on the Blue Ridge Parkway out of Maggie Valley.  You may have seen some of them before  so I apologize if I repeated any pictures.  Maybe your memory is as bad as mine and you won't remember. :)

The beauty of fall

The first two pictures were taken on the outskirts of Maggie Valley, NC.  George and Betsy will definitely recognize them. The rest of the pictures were taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  It was so beautiful that it was impossible to really capture it all with a camera.

Here are a few more shots from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  As you can see the weather wasn't very cooperative that day but it was still beautiful.

Snow instead of leaves :)

Just got back from visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We went down to see the beautiful leaves. Instead we saw the scenes below.  Actually we didn't get to get on it very much because it was closed where we were because of ice and snow.  However, the day we left I checked to see if it was open and to my surprise it was so we drove a little stretch of it before we left and got the pictures below.
