Skagway to Emerald Lake in the Yukon
This is a short blog... It shows a few pictures of our Alaska trip in 2010. We rented a car in Skagway and drove over into Yukon. This is our trip and a sampling of pictures. If you will notice, I wrote a little summary of the trip below the map and pictures.

Skagway flowers
Flowers from around Skagway. Some are columbines I know but I don't know what the others are. The last picture is a picture of a rhubarb plant. It was huge...I should have gotten my wife to stand by it so you would have a point of reference. I kept telling my wife and daughter that I was sure it was rhubarb but I had never ever seen any that big. I finally asked someone local if it was rhubarb and they confirmed that it was.

Skagway II
The first three pictures are still from the train.
An old building in Skagway.
Looking down a street in Skagway.
Here goes the old steam engine out taking another tour.
We went to an old cemetery while in Skagway. This is kind of an interesting read if you can read it after it's enlarged.

Skagway
All except the first picture were taken after we got to Skagway. We took a train ride there and while it was enjoyable I much prefer the car ride we took on the last trip. You can see so much more from the car and besides that the train ride was kind of rough with all the swaying back and forth. It was hard to take good pictures because of all the movement. I stayed out on one of the platforms at the end of each passenger car most of the time
One last shot as we're leaving Juneau. :)
We took a train ride to White Horse Pass in Skagway.
A shot along the way....
This is coming into Skagway. Sorry that it's out of order but I'm too lazy to fix it.:)
A shot of a stream rushing off the mountain.
Here we go into a tunnel.
This is an old bridge that is not used any more.
Across the bridge we go...
We're now at the US/Canadian border.

Skagway to Carcross (Part 2)
This is of of the two bears we saw on the drive. Both were eating dandelion blooms.
I believe this was called Tormented Valley.
Have to throw in a waterfall for George & Betsy! :) A very small one but a waterfall nonetheless.
