Wapta Falls

This is Wapta Falls near Golden, British Columbia. It was a pretty good hike back to the falls but was well worth the hike.

On our return hike we ran upon this bird walking in the middle of the road.  It never would fly no matter how close we got.  It finally ran into the brush to get away from us.

That would be worth the hike FOR SURE.... What a beauty of a waterfall. We are about to change our minds and put Glacier on the top of our list the next time we take a long trip--instead of Yosemite... Who knows!!???

Great bird also... I've never seen one like that.

Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Neal, what a great post! The photos are lovely and the sound of that waterfall is just what I needed today. Thank you so much for sharing.

Very impressive falls! I can't get the video to play for me (probably my server this time of night) so I'll come back.
Pretty plump bird. His red eyes contrast well with those black and white feathers.

No secret to my bird shot - I sit and keep clicking and sooner or later I get lucky. :)

Neal, I feel like a recording...such beautiful beautiful places...not going to comment on all. But trying to catch up and see what I have missed. Love that bird...I thought it was some kind of grouse...
