 Look at all of those seals!!

 The Rock...Alcatraz.  We didn't get to go out there because all the tours were full when we got there. Before you say it Betsy ... No, I wasn't afraid they would keep me out there if I went out. :)  You can see a good picture of Alcatraz by clicking here. If you go here you can see a lot of pictures on the island.

San Francisco area

All the following pictures except the last one are pictures of the San Francisco/Oakland area. They are not really good pictures because it was so hazy/smoggy that they aren't clear.  However, you can still see the area well enough to see how it is situated. San Francisco is a beautiful city as cities go but it's too crowed and expensive for me so I would never consider living there.

All these pictures are up the coast of California.  As you can see it's pretty rugged but it's pretty.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon ... Part 3

This is just to show some of the flowers and vegetation in the area. I don't know what kind of flowers these are but thought they were just beautiful.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon ... Part 2

 This tells a little about a couple trees in the park.

 This is just another big tree.  It was one that I could get a good shot of because it was out in the open.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon

 Now we are in Sequoia National Park where the huge Sequoia trees grow. They are huge.  If I'm not mistaken one of the sequoia trees in this park is the largest living thing on earth. If I recall correctly, the bark is about a foot thick. You could see signs of previous fires every where.  What kind of surprised me is how small the top was compared to how big the bottom was.

 Had my daughter to stand in it for point of reference.

Another huge sequoia.  There was one you could back your car out on.  The log had been flatten on one side so there was plenty of room for a car.

 I like the picture above simply because it show half dome and both waterfalls in a single picture
