Running Eagle

This is an interesting waterfall.  The reason I say that is that it seems to come out of the face of a rock yet when the water gets high it also comes over the top.  The name of this waterfall in Running Eagle and it is in the Two Medicine area of Glacier.

Here is a couple short video clips of the fall.

Clifty Falls SP Waterfalls

This post is for Betsy so she will know we really did see water coming over the falls at Clifty Falls State Park in Indiana. :)  There wasn't a lot of water but there was water going over all the falls in the park.

Below is a short video clip of one of the falls.

We're done

It is only fitting that the below picture was my final picture of our Colorado vacation.  I know my good friends George and Betsy would think seeing a waterfall was a good way to end a vacation.  This waterfall was just outside of Colorado Springs up a winding road..Cheyenne Canyon Road I believe.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon ... Part 2

This tells a little about a couple trees in the park.
This is just another big tree.  It was one that I could get a good shot of because it was out in the open.
 Kings Canyon.
 Waterfalls in Kings Canyon.
 Another waterfall in Kings Canyon.
A peaceful setting in the area.

Yosemite... more day 5

I like the picture above simply because it show half dome and both waterfalls in a single picture

The above picture shows the valley below.

Another picture of the rugged rocky mountains.

Another picture of the valley below with roads to show humans are not far away. :)

There were many beautiful flowers in the park.  The above picture is just one of many pictures of wildflowers.

Yosemite...day 5

Below...You've seen this waterfall before but from below it. I think this is a better view.
Below is a picture of half dome.  If you go here you can see a satellite view. Don't know how familiar you are with Google maps but once you get to the maps site go to the top, select More, and check the Photos box. That will show thumbnails so zoom in a little closer and click on one of the thumbnails on half dome.  That will open a small picture. Now double click on the small picture and that will bring up a larger view plus a lot of thumbnails in the upper left corner so you can look at pictures taken from half dome.  I would love to hike up there but it's a long trip and a rough trip.  If you click here (I hope the link works :) ) you can see some of what you have to go through to get there. Click here to see a current picture from a webcam.  If you want to see a really good video about hiking to half dome go here, scroll down to the "Hiking Half Dome" section and watch the video...it is excellent.

How did that tree grow there.  Nature amazes me sometimes.
Below is the dome of rock from which all the above pictures were taken.

Yosemite...day 2

These pictures are from our second day in Yosemite.  I kept showing pictures of Alaska until I got George and Betsy to go there....my next project is to get them to go west. :)  I show pictures in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, etc in the last several blogs and now it's on to farther west.  When they see what they're missing they'll be planning a trip in the near future. :)
Just a peaceful setting we ran upon while driving in the park.
A little different angle to get the waterfall in it.
Don't need to say anything here..just a beautiful waterfall.
Another peaceful (at least to me) setting along the way.
Same waterfall as above...different angle.
Another angle.
Betsy, I know you and George want to go see this so start planning. :)
This is the bottom waterfall seen in the previous picture.

Waterfalls

All of these waterfall pictures were taken along the Columbia River Gorge highway just outside of Portland, OR.
