Outer Banks II
The first shot is from a pullover along the road. We happened to see the bird on the nest and thought it was kind of a pretty area so naturally we stopped to look around. The rest of the shots are from a nature trail that we hiked. It was a really enjoyable hike.

Oh my, just lovely pictures! I have never seen a bird build a small nest up on a little pole in the water! This image will be with me for a long time.
Beautiful area, Neal. Bet it was fun to hike on that nature trail. Love that old lighthouse. Were you able to get close to the lighthouse?

We haven't made it to the Outer Banks, but these pictures sure make me want to go there. Your photos are marvelous -- I really like the way you've captured the grasses on your hike.
