Off to Maroon Bells

 From Leadville we headed to Maroon Bells near Aspen, CO.  The picture above is along the way there.

 To get to Maroon Bells we went over Independence Pass. The picture below is also taken at the pass.

Of course this is Maroon Bells.  I was there once back in the 80s when the aspen trees were bright yellow and there was a little snow on the ground.  It was absolutely gorgeous. Of course, it is pretty gorgeous in the shot above.

 Look at all the flowers in the picture above and below.

How many times did you cross the Continental Divide? Haven't I seen that in other photos?

What gorgeous pictures, especially the first and fourth!! I love the shadow and light on the mountains. What is up with then name? Maybe named after a kind of flower?

To call these pictures gorgeous is an understatement. The mountains are different from ours here in Tennessee, but very majestic and beautiful in their own right.
