Independence Mine

As you can see these pictures were taken through a window. They were taken at Independence Mine in Alaska. I've always loved old mines and this one is one of my favorites. It was sprinkling rain that day so I had to be careful about getting my camera wet so I probably didn't get some good pictures that I would have gotten on a clear day. It was interesting to read about the mine and the miners. If you're interested you can find more information here.

I like the photos taken through the window - nice job!

Maybe a clear day would have meant better pictures in one way, but the overcast skies add a mood that is effective in these pictures. The window makes them!

I like old mines too, Neal. I can remember when they wouldn't let females into them for fear of bad luck. Hmmmm. THOSE days are gone. I've been down a few shafts and think they are fascinating.

I like them, too, Neal. I always like shots through a door, window, etc. Just gives a different feeling to the picture for me.

I've never seen an old mine except on tv. I like the way you took the pictures thru the window.
I agree about your flag picture. It's a beautiful shot!
