Mt McKinley or Denali

As mentioned in the previous blog we went into Denali National Park while in Alaska. One of the big attractions there is, of course, Mt. McKinley. The problem is that it generates it's own weather so the chances of seeing it is not that good (20-25 % is what they told us) because it's normally covered with clouds. However, on the day we were there it was visible for the whole day. It is so majestic and beautiful. The closest that you get to it on a tour is around 23 miles but it looks like it just 2-3 miles away. I read somewhere that it has the greatest rise of any mountain from it's base to the top. If you really want to see how majestic it really is you need to click on the images to enlarge them. I know I put up several but I couldn't decide which ones to upload and show so I just did a bunch of them.

How grand and majestic. I have heard the same as you that it is rarely seen and that it is the largest place on earth from base to top. You were lucky for the weather and did a great job of capturing it!

I like them all, but of these my favorite is the second one down.

ps--Tom wonders if you are thinking about joining Paintbox Pictures. There are no time/quantity limits. Just whenever you have something you want to show.

I'll probably join Paintbox Pictures when I get everything back to normal here.....whatever that is. :)
