To Central City

I have always love seeing and looking around old mines.  With that in mind we got off I-70 and Idaho Springs and headed to Central City on a winding gravel road.
Not far into our drive we ran upon this old mine sitting on the side of a mountain.

Of course, here is a modern restroom facility that we can across during our drive.

The picture above and below is an old abandoned mine that is about to fall.  I would have loved to walk around and look but it had no trespassing signs everywhere and I always try to obey the law so I didn't get to look around....except fro what I could see from the road.

The above mine was right before we got to Central City.  I had been on this road a couple times before but I still enjoyed the drive immensely.

This whole place looks like a ghost town! But it is really interesting.

The 'modern' bathroom facility reminds me of growing up on the farm. Not necessarily the best memories.I am glad you did not wander around in the old mine area, looks pretty dilapidated.

HA HA ---I laughed at your 'modern' bathroom.... There are times when we are hiking in the woods that I wished I had had that facility!!!!! ha

Mines are so fascinating..Glad you got to check that one out at Central City.

Hugs,
Betsy
