Snow instead of leaves :)

Just got back from visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We went down to see the beautiful leaves. Instead we saw the scenes below.  Actually we didn't get to get on it very much because it was closed where we were because of ice and snow.  However, the day we left I checked to see if it was open and to my surprise it was so we drove a little stretch of it before we left and got the pictures below.

OMGosh, Neal, this is unbelievable... is it common for there to be snow this early there? It's very beautiful, but it's just too soon... LoL!

I've never ever seen snow on fall colored leaves! WoW!

happy weekend

Gosh, WE live on the Blue Ridge Parkway!!! But we are in Virginia, we don't have anything like this now, just pretty leaves. What a surprise!! The first picture looks like a crystal glass forest!! I would expect the Snow Queen to come down from her castle at any moment.

I just love the way you've captured the light on the snow in some of these pictures. You even got some autumn color along with the snow in a few pictures. My only regret is that we weren't there to see it with you in person.

Most of the pretty color is gone in my yard. I have brown leaves everywhere so I think I can start looking forward to a little white stuff. :)
Love these shots!

Awesome---awesome---awesome... Seems as if you got to see both snow and leaves on that trip.
