Colorado

We left Rocky Mountain National Park and headed to Leadville, CO.  The fastest way would be to go out I-70 and go through the Eisenhower Tunnel which enters the mountain at approximately 11,000 feet and goes for approximately 1 2/3 miles through the mountain.  However, we elected to go over Loveland Pass just for the scenery.

The picture above is I-70 entering/exiting the Eisenhower Tunnel on the east side of the mountain.

The picture above shows the road going up to Loveland Pass.

We made it!

The above picture is from Loveland Pass.

After going down the other side of the mountain we come to Dillion Lake.

Awesome... That's another place I'd love to see... I know/knew nothing about CO --but am learning from you. Thanks for the gorgeous pictures, Neal.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. We enjoyed the experience of going through the Eisenhower Tunnel, but I wish we had had the time to go over the pass. The scenery is magnificent.

Thanks for the memories. I remember Loveland Pass from some 35 years ago.
