Natchez Trace Parkway -- X

 Another Indian burial mound.

 Top of mound.

The picture above and all the ones below were taken in Vicksburg National Military Park. I love to look around in places like this.  However it is sad when you think about all the you men that died in the Civil War.

The burial mound is very impressive, how many did they bury in a mound like this? The golden eagle is very pretty, I'm assuming the building is someone's mausoleum?

Lovely photos of a place where apx 8000 lost their lives (according to Wikipedia)! The photos are so peaceful, it's difficult to believe that a horrific battle went on their for weeks!

I have often wanted to visit Vicksburg, but I have never made it. Thanks for the pictures. That golden eagle is gorgeous.

Hi Neal, Vicksburg reminds me a little of Yorktown... Have you all been to W-burg, Yorktown and Jamestown????? FABULOUS.

That eagle is fabulous. Speaking of Eagles, are you still watching the Decorah Eagles???? I am --and there are 3 fuzzy eaglets... TOO CUTE.
