The next drive we took we went to LaRue Pine Hills. I think this would be absolutely gorgeous in the fall. However, when we took the drive it was raining so I didn't get very many shots and the shots I got aren't very good in my opinion. We found out the hard way not to follow the directions listed on a brochure that we got from the national forest service. Those directions took us down the wrong road

Looks like a wetlands area --similar to ones that blog friend Mary goes to in southern Indiana...
Don't you just LOVE it (ha) when brochures give you the WRONG directions???? Mercy me...

I love the lake with the trees in the middle of it. What are those birds, herons, maybe? Talk about hitting a wall, yikes!! That last picture is driving right into a rock wall! I guess the road must go down and continue on, but your shot is a way cool effect!
These pictures are beautiful. You will have to go there again when the leaves change color.:)

It looks as if a wrong road was a small price to pay for such pretty scenery, but I know how frustrating that can be -- especially when it's an error on an 'official' brochure.
I need a vacation to a lovely spot. :)
I'm sorry it was raining but what wonderful scenery. Kinda like that road that leads into a rock wall. It would have been pretty cool had the road gone through it. :)
