Congaree National Park
There were weird trees in Congaree National Park. The most prevalent tree is the bald Cyprus and Congaree is suppose to have some of the largest Cyprus trees in the world. I'm not sure if all of these trees are Cyprus trees but they are interesting. There's a board walk that goes about all the way through the park and in some places it is elevated around 8 feet. However, is still floods 4-5 times a year. The park is really just a big swamp so if you down like swamps you won't like this national park. It's not a place that I'll ever be interested in visiting again but I'm glad I visited it this time.

Interesting trees, Neal.... I would probably be looking for birds if I were to visit there...
Great pictures..

Very interesting! I really like that last one....or maybe should say find it the most interesting.
Definitely Middle Earth/LOTR flavor!
I could swear those little stalgmite type roots at the bottom had faces. :)
I'd like to go - but minus the alligators.
Although I lived in South Carolina for a few years I never made it to Congaree National Park. I saw several swamps closer to the coast, which was enough for me.
Really weird looking. The first one looks like a big snake.
I'd love to see trees such as these you have on show here... any wild place would be to my liking... even if it is only the once... ha!
