I've published these before but thought maybe some of you haven't seen them. These are called snow rollers. We got up one morning and looked out and these were everywhere. Some were pretty big, up to a foot across. The weather man said they are pretty rare. I know these were the first I had ever seen and I haven't seen any since.

Love your big tall shadow pic..fun stuff! Thanks for bringing them back to read and enjoy!
Neal, I don't remember seeing snow rollers before, so I thank you for the picture. Your shadow gives new meaning to the phrase 'long and tall'!

How strange and unusual and I learned it right here on your blog!
WoW I've never seen any either! The wind rolls the snow into that shape? WoW!
I was thinking about these the other day and wondered if we would ever again see them.
I've never seen them in real life. I wonder what conditions create them. Hmmmm.
