Time for a good laugh... This is a picture of me and my 2 brothers when we were kids. I'm on the left with my older brother in the middle and my younger brother on the right. You may not be able to see in the picture but none of us are wearing shoes. It was pretty normal for us to go without shoes most of the summer. First, we were very poor so it saved wear and tear on the shoes we had, and secondly, we all liked to go barefooted. Seems like every summer I would manage to step on a nail somewhere and jab it in my foot. I'd hobble around a couple days and then the soreness would be gone so I was back to normal.

I love this picture! I have a nearly identical picture, except of girls. My mother and her two sisters. Same looks on faces and everything.
A nail a summer and you're still alive. The doctor would freak out over that now!
