Animated gif files
Several people have asked me how I got the "slide show" at the the top of my sky watch. It's really not a slide show, it's an animated gif file and there's really not much to making them. All you need is some pictures and software to make the files. I used Animation Shop from Corel to make mine. I think Photoshop will do it also but I haven't tried very much because Animation Shop is so easy. I used the pictures in the second picture to make this animation. You can tell the software how long to pause between each frame (the example is set to 2 seconds between frames except for the last frame which is set to 4 seconds). You can loop continuously or play through one time. This animation is nothing more than the pictures in the top photo played in sequence. I've not had any luck uploading animated gifs to Google so I use Photobucket. There are a lot of other places that you can host them also so you're not stuck using Photobucket if you don't like it. For those of you who already know all this I apologize for being so boring. :)

Thanks for the info Neal.
I have been enjoying yours and thought it made yours special.
Watch - we'll see a lot in a couple of weeks. ;)
As much as I use the net, it appears that I'm illiterate when it comes to most of its features - although, you do make it sound simple here.
That is a superb series! I love orange!
