Headed to Colorado Springs

After the Royal Gorge we headed to Colorado Springs to meet one of Patti's cousins for dinner.  We decided to take a back road because we thought it would be pretty.   It was very pretty along  the way BUT it was so wash-boarded in places that it would shake your teeth out.  I was driving down the road when I got a glimpse of something in the road so I stopped and backed up and the little fellow below was what I had seen.  Of course I pulled up a little and got out and went back to pester him.  It didn't take a lot to get him mad and rattling...just a few pebbles dropped on him. :)

As you can see from the other pictures it was very beautiful.  It would have been so much more enjoyable if it hadn't been so rough.  However, we still got to Colorado Springs in time to meet her cousin.

Gorgeous, Neal (well--except for the snake).. ha ha

Sorry your road was so bumpy. We have been on roads like that before... I don't usually care for them when we are on them ---but after we get off of them, I liked them!!! ha

Love the 3rd picture --with those rocks. Looks a tiny bit like Bryce Canyon.

Forgot to tell you I love your header! My favorite is the third picture. I would have run a mile screaming from the rattler!

Taunting a rattler - seriously Neal! :)
Beautiful scenery! I really like the third picture too - looks like another world.

Iik, I do not love snakes. Your landscape photos are really beautiful. My favorite is the third from the bottom. There are many lovely elements in that photo that I cannot mention them all.

Happy Friday!

I don't think I would have gone back to aggravate the rattler, but since you did I congratulate you on a great picture. Beautiful scenes like these is the reason we like back roads, but we prefer that they not shake our car apart.
