Cataloochee

These pictures are from Cataloochee Valley where some of the elk in Smoky Mountain National Park are located.  Even though it may be hard to tell the weather was not very good.  If you look at the elk you can tell that he is wet so all of these pictures were taken with it sprinkling.  I got the deer shot through a open window since s/he was right along the road.

The overcast conditions seem to bring out the colours even more. I love all the shots.

The Fall colors were awesome when you all were there... Sorry you didn't see too many elk that day... Great picture of the deer...

The mist in that last picture is beautiful, but then all of the pictures of the valley are wonderful. You did a great job of capturing the deer. The rack on the elk is impressive.

The colours look bright even though the weather isn't.

Love that barn shot. What a wonderful setting.

I've only ever seen an elk herd once, and that was on a drive to the coast. They are huge animals. lol
