Pawnee Grassland

All these pictures were taken in the Pawnee Grassland area in CO just west of Sterling, CO.  That is where we ran upon one of the rattlesnakes we say.  Most of it was just rolling hills (see picture of road below) but in one area there were a few buttes sticking up.  They looked out of place because the rest of the area was pretty flat.

The last two pictures are pictures of a wind farm to generate electricity.  It was a huge farm seemingly stretching for miles.

Just wonderful pictures! Barren, lonely, beautiful. I love those blue flowers in your header, too.

These are wonderful pictures of the grasslands. We were also impressed with the wind farms we saw out west. The number of the farms and the size has to be seen to be believed.

Even flatlands can be beautiful as these images show.

Hi There, If I saw these pictures in another setting, I would never know they were taken in CO. I never think about the area east of Denver --where it is so flat... Great set of photos, Neal.
