Snow

When we were on our cruise to AK one of the stops was in Skagway, AK. One of the attractions there is a train ride into the Yukon. We took the train ride the first cruise we took but decided to rent a car the last time we went. We enjoyed the car ride much better than the the train ride because we could stop when we wanted to and take pictures. :) The train ride was on the Whitehorse Pass Railroad. Below is a video that I found on another blog of them clearing the railroad of snow. I've got a couple of pictures of a snow blower in AK that were diesel powered. Obviously, this snow blower is powered by steam. By the way you can see much better if you go to the full screen mode.

That is awesome... .Holy Cow---bet that takes alot of squirrels giving that thing enough steam!!!!!! That little 'engine(s) that could' is working darn hard....

You need one of them in your yard in winter!!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

I think Betsy would enjoy a job on one of those steam engines while it was clearing the tracks of snow. A few days of that might even be enough snow for her!

Well, trains have to go in winter and I guess I never thought about how they did. Now I know. :)
Nice looking at some snow too after the 90+ degrees and high humidity of the last few days.
