This is the end of the cruise....Whittier. You have to go through a tunnel to get to Whittier and that tunnel is used by a train (see one of the pictures below) so it you may have to wait 1/2 hour before you can go through. Every time I've been in the vicinity of Whittier it has been damp and foggy. I don't think I would want to live there. You can see a lot more photos here and if you'll notice it's foggy in them also.

I sure think it looks like an interesting place...the second photo really appeals to me.
The weather may be miserable, but the setting looks absolutely gorgeous. I love the mountains.
These pictures are so sharp and clear, they are so good. I might not mind living there, all those little houses, they have the sea and the mountains both!!
Gorgeous pictures, Neal. This is where we were supposed to get the ship going south (opposite of you).. We were coming in on the train.
Where did you all go after getting to Whittier? Bus? Car? Did you go to Anchorage for the plane trip home that year?
Love your pictures.
Betsy
Look at the color of that water - beautiful!
It looks cold and dreary but I think I could survive there a little while. :)
The end of the cruise! Where we going now?
