More Yellowstone

This picture show the walk way as it winds across the hot springs and minerals.  There's a sulfur smell so it doesn't smell too good sometimes.  According to what I read the buffalo come up to the hot springs in the winter sometimes to keep warm.
I believe this is some kind of algae growing the warm water.  Animals and plants have an amazing ability to adapt.
One of the many holes/ hot springs in Yellowstone.
Steam boiling out of the ground.  Can't remember whether it's a geyser or not.

Algae??  Some kind of plant that has adapted to the hot sulfur water.
Mud pot.  These were what I would call boiling mud.  The mud is real think but pressure builds up under it and will then pop through the surface.  If you enlarge the picture you can see some where the steam has just came through.

These are wonderful pictures of the hot springs/mud pools. I would imagine that these were as fascinating as the geysers. Some of the algae is beautiful.
