Columbia River Gorge drive

This was a monument on the Columbia River Gorge highway. I can't remember what it was for....I'll have to ask my better half...she'll know.

This is a closer shot of the monument.

My daughter posing just outside the monument.

As you can see from the pictures it was kind of foggy that day. It sure would be nice to take that drive in the bright sunshine. We were talking to some people in the restaurant that evening and they said that day was the first day they had any rain for about a month.

It may have been a foggy day, but the view still looks stunning. I think this would be a beautiful drive any time of the year (although I don't think I would want to do it in winter!).

Hi Neal, Seems like I always say that "I wanna go there" ---when I look at your pictures. What a neat view---even in the fog.

Enjoy your snow.... ha ha

I think I've seen this monument on someone else's blog, but I can't remember what it was for either.
That's a very pretty daughter you have, Neal - I'm gonna have to grow my hair out long like that again - So pretty!

Well Welcome to Washington. I've been to that monument a few times. the Columbia River Gorge is just beautiful on both the Wa. and Oregon side.
Love the waterfalls too. and the little plants in Darlingtonia, Oregon---aren't they so neat. Bug eaters!!
