Monastery

When we were in southern IN last week we went to a monastery (Saint Meinrad in Tell City) to look around. Some of the stained glass windows were just beautiful. I took a couple shots just to remember how beautiful they were. IIRC there are only two monasteries like this one in the US.

Stained glass is always beautiful -you captured it very well Neal!
I love that third shot - what marvelous architecture - well framed shot by the way.

Wow Neal... That's so neat! I've seen a monastery in Arkansas --but have no idea where the pictures are, since it was years ago. AND--when I was visiting my youngest son when he lived in Charlotte, we saw a monastery near there.

You know how I love churches---so this was an incredible post.

Thanks,
Betsy

These are stunning.. what is really sad it that although many of our Churches have such windows they have to be cover over as vandals smash them.... over here many a church yard in towns are the meeting place of youth gangs... it shames me to put this but it's true.

You last few post are excellent as is the music.

These are beautiful pictures, Neal. I don't recall hearing about the Tell City monastery when I lived in Indiana. I wish I had known about it.
