These are just a few of the totem pole pictures that I took in Alaska. It's hard to imagine the amount of work that goes into one of them. As you can see, they come in all sorts of sizes and shapes.
Hi Neal.. When I first started looking at your totem pole pictures, I wondered if they were from Alaska. My oldest son worked in Alaska for a couple of years--and got several great pictures of totem poles while there. VERY interesting!!!
Neil, These are interesting totem poles...with the empty space in between the top sculpture and the bottom..do you know why that is? A lot of their lure is about the crow but I have never seen poles like you posted.. Cool!
Neal I know the place and took a lot of the same pictures. We visited Alaska last year and love to go back again. All totem poles have stories to tell.. - Cheers.

Great pictures! I've been told that there is a meaning to the figures in the poles. It would be nice to know the story each pole represents.

I love these Neal!
I had never seen any with a figure at the bottom and then plain pole and another figure at the top - interesting.
Loved the woodchuck link you left for me - Ha! :)
Amazing looking things. My favorite is the next to last one. I was going to ask if one of them was Kaw-liga but I remember he is in Alabama somewhere.
