Sky Watch Friday

All these pictures were taken in Juneau, Alaska one evening. The sky kept changing and I kept shooting. :) It rains there a lot so I was lucky to get these shots. While we were in Juneau we went to the Mendenhall Glacier and it was raining (not hard) all the time. I guess it rains so much there they they tell the weather forcast like this: Look out at the street. If it's wet it's raining, if it's dry it's going to rain. :)

The mountains with the early morning light with just the scattering of nimbus is particularly attractive, Neal.

awesome amazing skys but I do wish you wouldn't play the music automatically.

It isn't that I don't like it - I just don't want it suddenly bursting into life. Having the option to turn it ON would be far preferable.

I thought I'd picked a favorite with the third one that has the rays of the sun but that last is beautiful too. The clouds themselves almost look like mountains. What an amazing place to get to see. Everyone brings so much to the table with this each week.

Alaska is such a beautiful place and your photos show it so well. I like the shot with the mountains the best. But your quote about the rain at the end explains why I never want to live there! Sure would like to visit though!

What a great set of pictures. Alaska must be great during the summer - though I hear the mosquitoes are as big as the moose.

My Skywatch this week looks at the skies around Bangkok and Ubon Ratchathani in NE Thailand.
