Sequoia tree
Several years ago we went to Sequoia National Park. It's hard to imagine how big the sequoia tree is without seeing one. I have included a picture that shows my daughter standing in one so you can have a point of reference. Make sure to click on the picture with the sign so you can read about the biggest living thing on earth or you can read about it here. Also notice all the burn marks on the trees in the bottom picture. About all the trees there had burn marks. I read somewhere that the bark of the sequoia tree can be up to 2 feet thick.

I don't think Old Bob could pull one of those logs...
I think you're right Neal - to fully appreciate it I think you'd have to be there. Your photos do seem to them justice though; they do look awesome.
Indeed, that those trees must be seen in person in order to fully appreciate them.
"Louis" thanks you for visiting San Francisco Bay Daily Photo. You might be interested in his "ABC Wednesday" post. If you look at it, don't miss the links at the bottom of the post.
Amazing trees! I've seen a picture of one that has a tunnel thru it for cars to go thru.
I would love to have seen them... I'm no 'tree hugger' but I think I would have hugged one of those. A true wonder of nature. Great post Neal
Seeing the photo with your daugher stading next to one shows how HUGE the trees actually are. Good photo!
